Bread cake and Monte Veronese

500 g Monte Veronese PDO
8 bread slices
6 tomatoes
2 eggs
4 tablespoons of Grana Padano PDO
½ cup milk, fresh
oil, salt, pepper to taste.
1 cloves of garlic
10 black olives
basil
20 g butter

 

Preparation time: 10 min

Cooking time: 25 min

Prepare the home-made tomato sauce: blanch the tomatoes, remove the seeds and reduce them to very small pieces; sauté the peeled garlic in oil and add the tomatoes, salt, pepper and the basil; cook for 5 minutes.
Cut the Monte Veronese PDO into slices; cover the bottom of the baking pan with 4 slices of bread arranged close together. Alternate layers of bread, cheese, pitted olives cut into round slices and tomato sauce.
Beat the eggs with salt, pepper, milk, and Grana Padano PDO. Arrange it on bread cake complete with flakes of butter.
Bake the bread cake in a hot oven at 180° for about 30 minutes.
